Hello.
I'm picking up a new hobby, which is meditation. Recently, meditation has been popularized by many successful entrepreneurs. One of my earliest discovery to meditation is by Tony Robbins' "Hour of Power". So the story is this...
There are 2 worlds. One is the outside world that we share, and the other one is the inside world that lives within us. However, we spend most of our time for the outside world and we don't spend any time for the inside world.
There's a comparison between conscious and subconscious. Which one do you think is more powerful?
According to studies, the subconscious mind is many many times way more powerful than the conscious mind but we operate in the conscious and nobody ever taught us how to program our subconscious. So the idea behind meditation is to reprogram our subconscious with many good stuff. I can go a lot deeper into that but I'll just give one example, let's look at our driving skill. Remember the day we just started learning how to drive? There's a lot of stuff going in our head, how the brake works, how the clutch works, understanding the feel to change gears and etc etc. With enough practice, this activity and this skill becomes subconscious where we no longer need to think an we just do. That's why our subconscious mind is very very important and meditation is one of the ways I know to train our subconscious mind.
Today is the first day I tried to meditate. So what I did was I meditate immediately after I woke up. This morning, I did the exercise 3 times because I fell asleep the first 2 times. I actually fell asleep the third time as well. Well, I guess that's what happens when I pick up a new habit. I'm eager to pick up new habits because I want to go through this process to understand how it's like.
Many of my dog training clients need to go through this process. The process of developing a new habit. Dog training is already a subconscious to me, I do not need to think. All I do is I react to different challenges. I also don't think about the challenges and I have not experienced all the challenges there is to dog training but I can see that I can develop a strategy and work on something on the spot to correct certain behavior based on certain fundamentals and principle.
By going through this meditation process, I feel that it will bring me closer to the people that are learning something new because me too am learning something new and that it's normal to suck in the beginning. I look forward to documenting my journey in meditation and I hope to be able to share a in depth testimony on how meditation works for me.
I'll see you around.
Until then,
MikhaelKueh
